Apps & Games content ratings on Softonic

Content ratings help you understand the type of content you might find in an app or game, so you can decide if they are suitable for you and your family.

What do the ratings actually tell me?

Content ratings describe the minimum age we feel the content is suitable for. It does not indicate that the app was specifically designed for that particular age, or if a certain level of skill is required to play the game or use the app.

Where can I find the content ratings?

You will find the content ratings on every app or game page.

Why are some apps or games unrated?

If an app or game does not have a rating, it means that it has not yet been rated, or it’s been rated and we’re working to update the page.

Rating Systems

Softonic uses the rating systems by PEGI and ESRB. The ratings you see may vary by country or region.

It's not a game. It's a world

Elena Santos

Pros
  • Different ways to play
  • Many missions to accomplish
  • High social component
Cons
  • It has no offline mode
  • It may get too addictive

World of Warcraft is a living, breathing online adventure world with over 7 million players. Log into the World of Warcraft and join thousands of mighty heroes in an online world of myth, magic, and limitless adventure.

Face the mighty dragon of Blackrock Spire; cleanse the undead from the looming ziggurats of Stratholme; fly in wondrous zeppelins over smoldering battlefields; and much more.

Well, I certainly think it's a fantastic game.

The only issue lies with not the gameplay, but the operation. Lately there have been tons of errors ranging from simple authentication freezes and connection trouble to internal system problems which cause them to shut down all servers for a longer than welcome amount of time.

It seems with each new patch comes a new set of problems, and it's getting old awfully fast.

Aside from that, the game is very addicting. They keep you hooked because it seems with each new milestone comes a new thing to try. It's always, "I must reach that next level." situation they get you doing, using the knowledge of what's next to come as motivation.

Some of the most common forms of motivation I've seen are achieving Level 55 and Level 80. 55 because then you unlock a new, almost over powered class called the Death Knights, Level 80 because you can now participate in everything the game has to offer without level restrictions(PvP being a root factor.)

Aside from the gameplay, the installation process was easy. It automatically installs all the patches from the newest releases as they come out to make that a breeze. And the account registration was a relief. I'm used to pay applications requiring you to go through all these different processes and having you fill out tons of info forms and crap, but this was very simple. A basic account set up form and a list of payment options which weren't difficult to set up at all. Once billing options set up, viola, you're good to play, no questions asked.

This is by far the most balanced and superbly crafted MMO I've ever seen. it's to bad the system operators can't keep the level of performace at the same level as the game itself.

Pros
  • Addictive
  • Fun
  • Great way to socialize and still play games
Cons
  • Too addictive
  • Frequent downtime
  • Too high a price for level of performance
